Der SmartPeg ist ein kleiner, präzisionsgefertigter Metallstift, der für eine Messung amImplantat (oder Stützzahn) angebracht wird. Er kann leicht platziert werden und nimmt im Mund des Patienten nur einen geringen Raum ein.

SmartPegs können für fast alle wichtigen Implantatsysteme erworben werden. Der SmartPeg ist ein Einwegprodukt, das in sterilen Packungen zu je fünf Stück geliefert wird.

Ist der Knochen nicht homogen, vibriert der SmartPeg automatisch in zwei Richtungen und gibt so einen korrekten Wert für die höchste und die niedrigste Stabilitätsrichtung des Implantats.
